El calendario boxístico sigue acumulando más y más veladas confirmadas para los próximos meses, siendo una de ellas la que Top Rank ofrecerá el día 1 de abril desde el Hard Rock Hotel & Casino de Tulsa, Estados Unidos. Como se informó en Bastión Boxeo hace un par de semanas, el enfrentamiento estelar será un choque eliminatorio WBO del peso pluma (con título interino en juego) entre el cubano Robeisy Ramírez y el ghanés Isaac Dogboe, que están en una posición en la que no se pueden permitir un tropiezo.
En cuanto al semifondo, este será un duelo del peso superwélter en el que el prospecto puertorriqueño Xander Zayas afrontará uno de sus mayores tests hasta la fecha ante el estadounidense Ronald Cruz, que llega de perder controvertidamente contra el clasificado mundial Damián Sosa. Además, esta pelea será precedida por choques como el encuentro del peso superwélter entre Jahi Tucker y Nikoloz Sekhniashvili y por una pugna del peso pluma entre el exretador mundial Joet González y el duro Enrique Vivas.
En el anuncio oficial de esta velada, Ramírez afirmó:
“He estado boxeando durante más de 20 años y he sido un luchador en cada paso del camino. Nunca he olvidado de dónde vengo, pero rechazo definirme a mí mismo por mis logros pasados. Incluso después de ganar mi segunda medalla de oro olímpica, soporté dificultades. Acepté los desafíos frente a mí y sé que mis mayores tests y mis logros más significativos en el boxeo aún están por delante. El 1 de abril entraré en el ring con el hambre que me ha traído hasta aquí y con el hambre que da saber que todavía hay mucho que conseguir. Este es sólo el comienzo para Robeisy “El Tren” Ramírez”.
Por su parte, Dogboe señaló:
“Hace casi cinco años me convertí en campeón mundial WBO del peso supergallo, para sorpresa de mucha gente. El 1 de abril seré coronado dos veces campeón en dos divisiones. Ramírez es un buen peleador, y le felicito por sus logros. He esperado pacientemente esta oportunidad, y quiero darle las gracias a Bob Arum y a la familia de Top Rank por ser buenos conmigo a lo largo de los años. Mi equipo y yo estamos preparándonos para esta oportunidad que cambia la vida. Dios bendiga a todos los fans del boxeo y a los entusiastas del boxeo por su continuo apoyo”.
Finalmente, Zayas dijo:
“2023 va a ser grande para mi carrera. Entro en el nuevo año con todo el poder y la mentalidad necesarios para hacerme un nombre en la división. Estoy totalmente preparado. Concentrado como un láser. Todo empieza el 1 de abril en Tulsa, Oklahoma. Estoy muy emocionado por estar en esta cartelera, ya que tendrá la oportunidad de mostrar mi habilidad en el semifondo en ESPN+. Esta vez pelearé contra un digno oponente mexicano, y planeo ofrecer un espectáculo para todos los fans del boxeo”.

The boxing schedule keeps adding more and more confirmed evenings for the coming months, one of them being the one that Top Rank will offer on April 1 from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, United States. As reported in Bastion Boxing a couple of weeks ago, the main event will be a WBO featherweight eliminator clash (with an interim title at stake) between Cuban Robeisy Ramírez and Ghanaian Isaac Dogboe, who are in a position where they simply cannot allow themselves to fail.
As for the co-feature bout, it will be a super welterweight duel in which Puerto Rican prospect Xander Zayas will face one of his biggest tests to date against American Ronald Cruz, who is coming from a controversial defeat against world ranked Damián Sosa. In addition, this fight will be preceded by clashes such as the super welterweight match between Jahi Tucker and Nikoloz Sekhniashvili and by a featherweight bout between former world title challenger Joet González and the tough Enrique Vivas.
In the official announcement of this evening, Ramírez stated:
«I have been boxing for more than 20 years and have been a fighter every step of the way. I never forgot where I came from, but I refuse to define myself by past accomplishments. Even after winning my second Olympic gold medal, I endured hardships. I embraced the challenges ahead of me and know that my greatest tests and most significant accomplishments in boxing are still ahead of me. For his part, Dogboe said:

Ramirez is a good fighter, and I commend him for his achievements. Lastly, Zayas commented:
