Por tercer día consecutivo Premier Boxing Champions anunció una velada, siendo esta la más esperada de la tres, ya que estará encabezada por el enfrentamiento eliminatorio del peso supermedio entre los estadounidenses David Benavídez y Caleb Plant. El encuentro se desarrollará en una cartelera en PPV desde el MGM Grand Arena de Las Vegas, Estados Unidos, el día 25 de marzo, si bien PBC todavía no ha anunciado oficialmente qué combates compondrán el respaldo.
En cualquier caso, sean o no buenos los demás duelos del evento, el Benavídez-Plant es uno de los grandes combates de la temporada, teniendo todos los elementos necesarios para ser interesante: choque de estilos, tensión entre los púgiles, un gran premio para el ganador, etc. No hay que perder de vista que quien salga con el brazo en alto se convertirá en retador obligatorio de Canelo Álvarez y, en teoría, algún día los organismos presionarán al campeón para que le haga frente.
En el anuncio oficial, Benavídez no se alargó mucho, señalando simplemente:
“No puedo esperar a que me pongan en el ring con él para que pueda patearle el trasero. Esta va a ser una gran noche para los fans al boxeo. No puedo esperar para entrar ahí y darle a todo el mundo la paliza que vienen a ver”.
Por su parte, Plant afirmó:
“Después de que noqueé a Dirrell, dejé claro que quería ir detrás del mayor combate que se puede hacer en la división. Este es uno de los enfrentamientos más esperados y estoy aquí otra vez, mostrándole al mundo por qué soy una de las mayores atracciones en el boxeo. Me siendo afilado y preparado. Estoy esperando el 25 de marzo, no sólo para darle a los fans lo que han estado esperando, sino para mostrar quién es el mejor”.

For the third consecutive day, Premier Boxing Champions announced an evening, this being the most anticipated of the three, since it will be headlined by the super middleweight eliminator match between the Americans David Benavídez and Caleb Plant. The fight will take place on a PPV card from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, United States, on March 25, although PBC has not yet officially announced which bouts will be part of the support.
In any case, whether the other fights are good or bad, the Benavídez-Plant duel is one of the most intriguing bouts of the season, having all the ingredients to be interesting: a clash of styles, tension between the fighters, a great prize for the winner, etc. We must not lose sight of the fact that whoever comes out with his hand raised will become Canelo Álvarez’s mandatory challenger and, in theory, one day the organizations will pressure the champion to face him.
In the official announcement, Benavídez simply stated:

For his part, Plant said:
