Adrien Broner no peleará contra Ivan Redkach, sino contra Hank Lundy. Declaraciones de los púgiles

La compañía BLK Prime ha confirmado oficialmente que el ucraniano Ivan Redkach será reemplazado por el estadounidense Hank Lundy como adversario del excampeón mundial Adrien Broner, pelea del peso wélter que encabezará una velada en PPV (39,99 $) el día 25 de febrero desde el Gateway Center Arena en College Park, Estados Unidos.
Según ha informado Redkach, su baja ha sido debida a una disputa con su promotor Joe DeGuardia, al que acusa de negarse a liberarle de su contrato y de haber intentado acaparar todas sus ganancias del combate. Sea esto cierto o no, el hecho es que rápidamente se encontró un sustituto de Redkach que tampoco será precisamente un fuera de serie, llegando Lundy de cuatro derrotas consecutivas.
No obstante, pese a las críticias que está recibiendo, quizás Lundy sea menos malo que el rival original considerando algunas meritorias actuaciones que ha ofrecido en su carrera y el pésimo espectáculo que Redkach ofreció ante Danny García (al que mordió) y ante Regis Prograis (ante el que fingió un golpe bajo para huir del combate).
Por otro lado, teniendo en cuenta los graves problemas de disciplina y la total falta de profesionalidad de Broner, que lleva dos años inactivo, que sólo ha peleado una vez en los últimos cuatro años y que tuvo una muy mala actuación ante Jovanie Santiago en su subida al ring más reciente, quién sabe si quizás Lundy sea hasta demasiado para la versión actual de “AB”.
En cualquier caso, Broner asegura que BKL Prime le va a pagar bolsas de ocho cifras más un 40% de las ventas del PPV, por lo que, de ser esto cierto, si no se motiva por un acuerdo de tales dimensiones, nada podrá motivarle ya.
En la confirmación oficial del Broner-Lundy, el primero señaló:
“Me alegro de que hayan encontrado un reemplazo digno como Hank Lundy. Desafortunadamente, Redkach tuvo que retirarse, pero estoy listo para quien me pongan delante. Este es el show de AB y estoy en una misión para destrozar a cualquiera en mi camino. Hank Lundy está en problemas, voy a darle una paliza”.
Por su parte, Lundy fue incluso más iluso que Broner:
“Pelear contra Broner es algo que he imaginado durante mucho tiempo y ahora se me ha presentado esta oportunidad. Broner se ha consolidado como uno de los mejores boxeadores en el mundo, pero no ha estado activo, así que voy a aprovechar al máximo su inactividad. Todo el mundo sabe que pelearé contra cualquiera y los grandes nombres huyen de mí. Así que se lo digo a todo el mundo en este momento, le voy a dar una paliza a este muerto de hambre”.

The company BLK Prime has officially confirmed that Ukrainian Ivan Redkach will be replaced by American Hank Lundy as the opponent for former world champion Adrien Broner, a welterweight bout that will headline a PPV evening ($39.99) on February 25 from the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, United States.
According to Redkach, this situation has been due to a dispute with his promoter Joe DeGuardia, whom he accuses of refusing to release him from his contract and of having tried to monopolize all his profits from the fight. Whether this is true or not, the fact is that a replacement for Redkach was quickly found in Lundy, who is not exactly outstanding either (he is coming from four consecutive defeats).
However, despite the criticism he is receiving, Lundy is less bad than the original opponent considering some commendable performances that he has offered in his career and the terrible shows that Redkach offered against Danny García (whom he bit) and against Regis Prograis (against whom he faked a low blow to flee from the fight).
On the other hand, taking into account Broner’s discipline issues and his total lack of professionalism, that he has been inactive for two years, that he has only fought once in the last four years and that he had a very bad performance against Jovanie Santiago in his most recent ring appearance, who knows if perhaps Lundy will even be too much for the current version of «AB».
In any case, Broner states that BKL Prime is going to pay him eight-figure purses plus 40% of the PPV sales, so, in case that’s true, if he is not motivated for an agreement of such dimensions, nothing will be able to motivate him already.
In the official confirmation of the Broner-Lundy fight, the former said:
“I’m glad they found a worthy replacement in Hank Lundy. Unfortunately, Redkach had to pull out, but I’m ready for whoever they put in front of me. This is the AB show and I’m on a mission to bust up everyone in my way. Hank Lundy is in trouble. I’m going to put a beating on him.”
For his part, Lundy was even more delusional than Broner:
“Fighting Broner is something I’ve envisioned for a long time and now this opportunity has presented itself to me. Broner has established himself as one of the best fighters in the world, but he hasn’t been active, so I’m going to take full advantage of his inactivity. Everyone knows that I will fight anyone and the big names run from me. So I’m telling everyone right now, I’m going to beat the shit out of this can man.”
