El peso mínimo Yudai Shigeoka y el peso ligero Shu Utsuki fueron los grandes triunfadores de la velada que tuvo lugar en el Korakuen Hall. Ambos púgiles vencieron con contundentes actuaciones, culminadas en resultados de KOT en el tercer round, sus respectivos campeonatos de Japón ante Tatsuro Nakashima y Jirolian Riku. En cuanto al evento de Sudáfrica, el top 15 del peso supergallo en tres organismos Ludumo “9mm” Lamati dio su primer paso en su campaña en el peso pluma batiendo al resistente Mark Anthony Geraldo por KO en el cuarto episodio. Crónica siguiendo el enlace.

Viernes 18 de noviembre
El campeonato de Europa del peso medio volvió a manos del italiano Matteo “Il Giaguaro” Signani 32(12KO)-6(1)-3, que venció la revancha ante Anderson “Ladoune” Prestot 25(13KO)-3(2) por KOT en el séptimo round. Con este resultado Signani alejará un tanto el retiro, al que podría haberse encaminado en caso de derrota, pero no borrará la impresión de que en cuanto se tenga que enfrentar a un boxeador con un nivel cercano al top 15 real de la división será derrotado contundentemente. En este sentido, hay que destacar que la EBU tiene situado de momento como su aspirante obligatorio a Felix Cash.
En cuanto a los prospectos participantes en el respaldo, tanto el peso supergallo Vincenzo La Femina 12(6KO)-0 como el peso medio Giovanni Sarchioto 6(6KO)-0 vencieron sus respectivos combates y se emplazaron a aumentos de dificultad. En el caso de La Femina, éste derrotó por amplísima decisión unánime (doble 100-90 y un 99-91) al venezolano Héctor Betancourt 14(11KO)-6, mientras que Sarchioto se impuso por KOT en el séptimo round al español José Manuel López Clavero 16(5KO)-20(7)-1.
Continuando con su declive desde que dio positivo en control antidopaje, el excampeón mundial mexicano Francisco “El Bandido” Vargas 27(19KO)-5(3)-2 fue derrotado por decisión dividida a manos del modesto Guillermo “Borrego” Ávila 20(14KO)-12(7), que seguramente recibirá una nueva oportunidad significativa en 2023. En el respaldo, la peso mosca “Jacky” Calvo 16(1KO)-8(1)-2 perdió por decisión unánime ante Angela Nolasco 10(0KO)-5-1 y el peso superwélter Luis Vidales 22(9KO)-8(2) ganó de forma unánime su revancha ante Gustavo “Vitaminas” Garibay 17(9KO)-16(9)-2. -El peso superligero Bastien Ballesta 25(5KO)-0-1 venció por decisión unánime (doble 96-93 y un 97-92) al venezolano Samuel “Pana” González 23(13KO)-9(1), pero quedó de manifiesto que debería olvidarse de momento de pugnar en el top 15 como pretende. Por otro lado, Mike Esteves 10(0KO)-1(1)-1 y Jonathan Santana 9(1KO)-3(1)-1 empataron (96-94, 94-96 y 95-95) en choque del peso gallo.
-El peso wélter checo Lukas Dekys 8(3KO)-0 continuó su gran racha venciendo al polaco Michal Lesniak 16(4KO)-2-1 por decisión unánime (98-91 y doble 97-92), mientras que el peso medio Stanislaw Gibadlo 9(1KO)-0 continuó hundiendo a Tomasz Nowicki 10(3KO)-2(2) con un KOT en el quinto round.
-La invicta peso mosca Alexas Kubicki 5(0KO)-0 superó su test venciendo por amplia decisión unánime (100-90, 99-91 y 97-94) a la exretadora mundial mexicana Isabel “La Catrina” Millán 30(9KO)-9(2)-2.
-El peso superwélter argentino Gabriel “El Terrible” Corzo 18(3KO)-0 afianzó su posición en la lista WBO defendiendo un título menor ante José Hugo “Chinito” Acevedo 14(8KO)-4(3)-2, al que superó por decisión unánime (98-92, 97-93 y 96-94).

El campeonato mundial WBA del peso crucero entre Arsen Goulamirian y Aleksei Egorov fue un disputado y entretenido choque, si bien el primero, que tuvo una de las peores actuaciones de su carrera, terminó logrando una cuestionable victoria con cartulinas absurdamente amplias. En los dos campeonatos de Europa que conformaron el respaldo principal de este cartel, los dos favoritos locales cumplieron los pronósticos y consiguieron triunfos antes del límite. El extitular mexicano Jaime Munguía continuó cosechando triunfos ante rivales a medida, siendo esta vez su víctima un Gonzalo Coria que sucumbió en el tercer asalto. En el respaldo principal, Benito Sánchez y José Ángel García empataron en un caótico choque del peso supergallo, y “Azabache” Torres y Rafael Espinoza lograron victorias ante oponentes muy por debajo de sus niveles. Crónica de los combates siguiendo el link.
En cuanto al evento de Frank Warren, el invicto Liam Davies 13(5KO)-0 continuó su escalada y, tras proclamarse campeón británico, logró capturar el cinturón de campeón de Europa supergallo venciendo por decisión unánime (118-110, 117-111 y 116-112) al correoso y combativo Ionut Baluta 15(3KO)-4. Así, el entusiasmado Davies apunta ahora al ámbito mundial, pero debería evitar precipitarse, puesto que no tiene ni siquiera quince combates y su falta de experiencia podría pasarle factura de manera decisiva en choques en la cumbre.
Por lo demás, este evento ofreció una previsible victoria por KO en el tercer round del peso semipesado Anthony Yarde 23(22KO)-2(1) sobre Stefani Koykov 14(12KO)-1(1), anunciándose oficialmente después el combate mundialista para el 28 de enero entre Yarde y Artur Beterbiev, y el peso superligero Eithan James 10(0KO)-0 venció por la mínima (96-94) un duelo ante el sustituto Keanen Wainwright 8(5KO)-2.

En el semifondo, el peso supermedio Pavel Silyagin tuvo algunos sustos (que mostraron brechas defensivas) ante el argentino Abraham Buonarrigo, pero se hizo con una clara victoria por decisión. -El peso superpluma Toka Khan Clary 29(19KO)-3(1) regresó a la senda del triunfo y tomó aire venciendo por decisión unánime (doble 98-92 y un 97-93) al exaspirante mundial Jonathan Oquendo 31(19KO)-8(2).
-El invicto peso ligero Francis Frometa 17(11KO)-0 cerró su temporada 2022 con un triunfo por KOT en el octavo round sobre Javier Herrera 17(8KO)-7(1)-1, que nunca había sido derrotado antes del límite, y en 2023 debería llegarle una prueba de fuego decisiva para mostrar hasta dónde llega su nivel.

Minimumweight Yudai Shigeoka and lightweight Shu Utsuki were successful in the evening that took place at Korakuen Hall. Both fighters won with convincing performances (ended in third round technical knockouts) their respective Japanese championships against Tatsuro Nakashima and Jirolian Riku. The European middleweight belt returned to the hands of Italian Matteo “Il Giaguaro” Signani 32(12KO)-6(1)-3, who won the rematch against Anderson “Ladoune” Prestot 25(13KO)-3(2) by TKO in the seventh round. With this result, one more time Signani avoids retirement, to which he could have been headed in case of defeat. However, it looks like, as soon as he has to face a boxer with a level close to the real top 15 of the division, he will be decisively defeated. In this sense, it should be noted that the EBU has named Felix Cash as his mandatory challenger.
As for the prospects participating in the support, both super bantamweight Vincenzo La Femina 12(6KO)-0 and middleweight Giovanni Sarchioto 6(6KO)-0 won their respective bouts, and now they will aim for steps up in competition. The WBA world cruiserweight championship between Arsen Goulamirian and Aleksei Egorov was a contested and entertaining clash, although the former, which had one of the worst performances of his career, ended up achieving a questionable victory with absurdly wide scorecards. After becoming British champion, Davies captured the European super bantamweight belt with a unanimous decision (118-110, 117-111 and 116-112) over the tough and combative Ionut Baluta 15(3KO)-4. Thus, the enthusiastic Davies now aims for the world scene, but he should avoid rushing, since he has not fought yet in fifteen bouts and his lack of experience could take its toll decisively in clashes at the top of the division.
This card also offered a predictable third-round KO victory for light heavyweight Anthony Yarde 23(22KO)-2(1) over Stefani Koykov 14(12KO)-1(1), followed by the announcement of the Beterbiev-Yarde fight for January 28, and super lightweight Eithan James 10(0KO)-0 narrowly won on points (96-94) a duel against substitute Keanen Wainwright 8(5KO)-2.
