It was taken for granted that, in case of losing her fight against Chantelle Cameron for the undisputed super lightweight title, the American Jessica McCaskill would maintain her position as the undisputed welterweight champion. However, the WBO has officially explained that it notified Matchroom Boxing that, if McCaskill was defeated in the aforementioned matchup, the boxer would be instantly stripped of her welterweight crown. It must be remembered that the fight, which took place last Saturday, ended with Cameron winning by unanimous decision.

Therefore, McCaskill should now automatically lose her status as undisputed titlist. Nevertheless, the Organization has refused to directly vacate the belt and has given the boxer ten days to show cause as to why she should not lose her title.
