Vasily Voytsekhovsky se recuperó de duro knockdown inicial para batir por KOT al pegador Gasan Gasanov

En su novena pugna profesional el peso semipesado ruso Vasily Voytsekhovsky 9(5KO)-0 no sólo tuvo una oportunidad de mostrar su desarrollo enfrentándose al peligroso campeón de Rusia Gasan Gasanov 18(14KO)-10(9)-1, cuyo récord no refleja su nivel de dificultad. Y es que Voytsekhovsky también evidenció de lo que está hecho levantándose de la lona para derrotar por KOT en el quinto round a su contrincante.
Voytsekhovsky salió al ring como si le hubiesen ofrecido un bonus por knockout, tirando rectos diestros y ganchos zurdos ante el veterano y peligroso Gasanov, que primero advirtió a su joven rival con un duro cruzado diestro a la contra y que posteriormente le derribó aparatosamente con este mismo puño. Esto no hizo amedrentarse a Voytsekhovsky, sino que en la reanudación continuó avanzando y atacando. Su ímpetu podría haberse traducido en un nuevo puño decisivo, pero contrariamente Voytsekhovsky anotó buenos rectos, uppercuts y hooks, siendo justo señalar que el invicto entonces ajustó mejor la distancia y aprovechó su alcance para conectar desde la distancia media-larga.
De esta manera Voytsekhovsky empezó a hacerse con el control de la pugna claramente y a impactar duros directos y ganchos zurdos, aciertos que terminaron teniendo consecuencias determinantes: en el cuarto asalto Gasanov, que presionado intentó desplazarse y esquivar moviendo los hombros y la cintura, fue castigado y derribado dos veces. Pese a las dificultades, Gasanov llegó al quinto round, en el que Voytsekhovsky conectó un preciso uno-dos que llevó al tapiz de nuevo a su rival. En ese momento el boxeador se puso en pie, pero el árbitro detuvo el encuentro.
Comparativamente, en sus primeros combates profesionales Voytsekhovsky no parecía más prometedor que el prospecto Artur Ziiatdinov, pero mientras el primero pudo batir por KOT a Gasanov el otro fue vencido por este mismo oponente, lo que demuestra una vez más que en el camino hacia el éxito en el boxeo hay múltiples factores en juego, algunos de los cuales no se aprecian rápida o fácilmente.
En cualquier caso, aunque Voytsekhovsky tiene que medir mejor sus riesgos tácticos, con sólo nueve peleas profesionales ha logrado alcanzar un buen nivel competitivo y ha conseguido un triunfo significativo, por lo que indudablemente se habrá ganado la confianza de su promotora para seguir apoyando su avance.

In his ninth professional fight, Russian light heavyweight Vasily Voytsekhovsky 9(5KO)-0 not only had an opportunity to show his development by facing the dangerous Russian national champion Gasan Gasanov 18(14KO)-10(9)-1, whose record does not reflect his difficulty. Voytsekhovsky also showed his grit and courage by getting up from the canvas to defeat his opponent by TKO in the fifth round.
Voytsekhovsky stepped into the ring as if he had been offered a knockout bonus, throwing right straights and left hooks against the veteran and dangerous Gasanov, who first warned his young opponent with a hard counter right hook and then dropped him with this same punch. This did not frighten Voytsekhovsky, since on the restart he continued to advance and attack. His aggressiveness could have ended in a new decisive punch, but on the contrary Voytsekhovsky scored good straight punches, uppercuts and hooks, as he adjusted the distance better and took advantage of his range to connect from mid-long range.
In this way, Voytsekhovsky clearly began to take control of the fight and landed hard right hands and left hooks, successes that had very important consequences: in the fourth round Gasanov, who tried to walk and dodge by moving his shoulders and waist, was punished and knocked down twice. Despite the difficulties, Gasanov reached the fifth round, in which a new intense offensive from Voytsekhovsky, and a precise one-two, took him to the mat for the third time. At that moment the boxer stood up, but the referee stopped the match.
Comparatively, in his early professional bouts Voytsekhovsky not seemed more promising than prospect Artur Ziiatdinov, but while the former was able to TKO Gasanov, the other fighter was beaten by this same opponent. This proves that in the road to success in boxing there are multiple factors to consider, some of which are not quickly or easily appreciated.
In any case, although Voytsekhovsky has to better measure his tactical risks, with only nine professional fights he has managed to reach a good competitive level and has achieved a significant victory, so he will undoubtedly have earned the trust of his promoter to continue supporting his advance.
