Sólo hay motivos para pensar que Naoya “Monster” Inoue 22(19KO)-0 y Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire 42(28KO)-6(1) ofrecerán otra memorable batalla en su revancha de este martes. Y es que nada ha cambiado para mal desde su primer enfrentamiento en noviembre de 2019, extraordinaria y emocionante pugna repleta de acción en la que el temible Inoue derribó y venció a Donaire, quien pese a ello ofreció muchísima guerra e incluso le rompió el hueso orbital a su contrincante.
Desde dicha pelea “Monster” ha continuado su camino de destrucción con tres victorias por knockout, destacando la inapelable disección que realizó de un top 10 absoluto de la división como Jason Moloney, mientras que Donaire ha continuado su sobrenatual renacimiento boxístico vapuleando con extrema sencillez a dos invictos: al consolidado campeón Nordine Oubaali y al joven y motivado prospecto Reymart Gaballo.
Así, habiendo ofrecido ambos recientemente actuaciones llenas de demoledores golpes de poder, precisa agresividad y astucia, parece casi imposible que puedan aburrir al público asistente al Saitama Super Arena de Saitama, Japón.
Por otra parte, más allá del espectáculo boxístico en sí, es inevitable tener la sensación de que esta es una batalla histórica entre dos futuros miembros del Salón de la Fama que podrían hacer todavía más especiales sus trayectorias con una gran victoria sobre su oponente. Finalmente, y por si todo lo demás fuese insuficiente, el vencedor de esta unificación de los cetros WBA-IBF de Inoue y del WBC de Donaire estará a un solo paso de la corona indiscutida del peso gallo.
Aunque Inoue señaló en el pasado que si podía evitarlo prefería no tener que volver a enfrentarse a Donaire en su camino hacia aunar los cuatro cinturones mundiales de la división, lo que da muestra del respeto que le tiene a su contrincante, el nipón no ha dudado en volver a enfrentarse a su archirival cuando se ha presentado la oportunidad y, de hecho, parte como favorito en la apuestas.
Más allá de que Inoue venció el primer duelo entre ambos y de que es diez años más joven (esto último no cuenta, ya que las leyes humanas no se aplican con Donaire), lo cierto es que el invicto monarca tiene un boxeo ofensivo afiladísimo que le hace muy difícil de superar. Cuando ataca lo hace con extrema velocidad y su eficacia es altísima, desperdiciando muy pocos puños, por lo que si logra mantenerse activo de piernas (mucho más que ante Dipaen) y logra hacer fugaces transiciones a posición defensiva tras sus ofensivas podría volver a tener las de ganar ante Donaire.
No obstante, Donaire cuenta de su lado con armas peligrosísimas como una enorme contundencia a una sola mano, una gran explosividad en momentos inesperados y, sobre todo, un timing fuera de lo común que le permite compensar su desventaja en rapidez. Por lo tanto, aunque quizás Inoue podría volver a encontrar un hueco para uno de sus destructores hooks al torso, puño con el que ya casi hizo sucumbir a Donaire en el primer combate, su empeño con el golpeo hacia el cuerpo podría llevarle a recibir una determinante mano al rostro.
En definitiva, aunque la profundidad de recursos de Inoue, sus reflejos y sus potentísimos puños podrían darle la oportunidad de hacer pagar a la contra el ímpetu inicial de Donaire, o tratar de buscar anticiparse a él comenzando con gran acometividad, tanto con iniciativa como sin ella el japonés no podrá cometer errores, deberá medir al máximo sus riesgos y necesitará usar su control de la distancia y su agilidad mejor que nunca para tratar de lograr la gesta de batir a “Filipino Flash”, cuya carrera “post-plenitud” simplemente no tiene precedentes equiparables.
En el respaldo del Inoue-Donaire II, el exretador mundial Takuma Inoue 15(3KO)-1, hermano de Naoya, intentará escalar en el ranking WBO supergallo peleando por un título menor contra el campeón de Japón de la división, el duro Gakuya Furuhashi 28(16KO)-8(1)-2, mientras que el prospecto y titular de Japón del peso superligero Andy Hiraoka 19(14KO)-0 buscará un nuevo knockout ante Shun Akaiwa 7(5KO)-3(1)-1.
En Estados Unidos este evento será emitido por ESPN+ desde las 5:30 a.m. ET/2:30 a.m. PT, las 11:30 de la mañana del martes en España.

There is only reasons to believe that Naoya “Monster” Inoue 22(19KO)-0 and Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire 42(28KO)-6(1) will offer another memorable battle in their rematch on Tuesday. Nothing has changed negatively since their first clash in November 2019, extraordinary and exciting action-packed duel in which Inoue knocked down and defeated Donaire, who despite the loss offered tremendous resistance and even broke his opponent’s orbital bone.
Since that fight «Monster» has continued his destructive advance with three knockout victories, highlighting his dissection of a top 10 boxer in the division like Jason Moloney, while Donaire has continued his supernatural reboot beating with extreme easiness two undefeated: the established champion Nordine Oubaali and the young and motivated prospect Reymart Gaballo.
Thus, having both recently offered performances full of devastating power shots, precise aggressiveness and cunning, it seems almost impossible that they can bore the public attending the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
On the other hand, it is inevitable to feel that this is a historic battle between two future Hall of Famers who could make their careers even more special with a great victory over their opponent. Beyond the fact that Inoue won the first duel and that he is ten years younger (this is not relevant, since human laws do not apply to Donaire), the fact is that the undefeated monarch has a very sharp offensive boxing that makes him very difficult to beat. When he attacks he is extremely fast and his effectiveness is very high, wasting very few punches, so if he manages to keep his legs active (much more than against Dipaen) and makes fleeting transitions to defensive position after his offensives, he could defeat Donaire once again.
However, Donaire has very dangerous weapons such as an enormous one-hand punch, great explosiveness at unexpected moments and, above all, and unusually great timing that allows him to compensate his disadvantage in speed. So while Inoue might find again the opening for one of his destructive hooks down, a punch with which he almost broke Donaire in the first match, his efforts targeting the body could lead him to receive a decisive hand to the head.
Although Inoue’s depth of tactical resources, his reflexes and his extremely powerful hands could give him the opportunity to exploit Donaire’s initial charges countering, or try to surprise his opponent starting with great aggressiveness, both with initiative and without it the Japanese can’t make mistakes, must measure his risks perfectly and will need to use his distance control and his agility better than ever to try to achieve the feat of beating «The Filipino Flash», whose post-prime career simply has no comparable precedents.
In the support of the fight Inoue-Donaire II, former world challenger Takuma Inoue 15(3KO)-1, brother of Naoya, will try to climb the WBO super bantamweight ranking fighting for a minor title against the Japanese champion of the division, the tough Gakuya Furuhashi 28(16KO)-8(1)-2, while the prospect and Japanese super lightweight titleholder Andy Hiraoka 19(14KO)-0 will seek a new knockout against Shun Akaiwa 7(5KO)-3(1)-1.
