La actividad boxística ya comenzó el martes, continuará este jueves y, saltando un viernes sin mucho que destacar, ofrecerá un sábado con múltiples enfrentamientos interesantes y que contará con dos mayúsculos campeonatos mundiales. Además, todo esto precederá a una intensa semana con una importante cantidad de veladas con alicientes.
Jueves 2 de junio
El Casino de Montreal, Canadá, acogerá una velada de Probellum, emitida desde su página web, en la que combatirá una de las mayores promesas del peso superwélter actual, el estadounidense Charles Conwell 16(12KO)-0, que tratará de mantenerse preparado para una crucial oportunidad afrontando un rodaje contra el mexicano Abraham Juárez 19(8KO)-9(5). Si Juárez no logró aguantar la distancia contra Carlos Ocampo o Abass Baraou, parece complicadísimo que lo logre ante el pegador Conwell.
En este mismo evento participará el invicto superligero canadiense Mazlum Akdeniz 16(8KO)-0 que, tras escaparse controvertidamente de una derrota ante Erick Encinia, intentará acumular experiencia y obtener un triunfo más convincente ante el mexicano Juan Antonio Rodríguez 32(28KO)-8(2), quien logró una victoria por KO ante Mercito Gesta. Finalmente, el peso superligero canadiense Mathieu Germain 20(9KO)-2(2)-1 afrontará una exigente pelea ante el invicto mexicano Misael “Pichón” Cabrera 12(9KO)-0.
También el jueves, en el Palenque de Ciudad Obregón, México, UFC Fight Pass emitirá un evento en el que el buen prospecto del peso ligero Luis “Koreano” Torres 15(10KO)-0 disputará su mayor test hasta la fecha contra su duro compatriota Diego Andrade 14(1KO)-6(2)-2, peleador muy exigente y cuyas últimas tres derrotas fueron por decisión y ante invictos, siendo dos de ellos Archie Sharp (1º WBO superpluma) y Bryan “Latino” Acosta.
En el choque coestelar, que se producirá en el peso ligero, Bryan Zamarripa 10(3KO)-1 y Yair Marmolejo 7(5KO)-0-2 disputarán su primer encuentro a ocho asaltos.
Viernes 3 de junio
La jornada del viernes sólo tendrá unos pocos combates mencionables. Los únicos encuentros titulares tendrán lugar en Argentina, siendo uno el campeonato por el vacante cinturón argentino del peso pluma que sostendrán Alan Luques 27(10KO)-11(2)-2 y Nicolás Botelli 11(6KO)-7(4) en el Polideportivo Municipal Eva Perón de General Madariaga, Argentina, emitido por TyC Sports. A pesar de que Luques tiene un récord parcial de 1-3-2, es un boxeador muy resistente y con mucha experiencia que ha ofrecido duras peleas, entre otros, al olímpico Alberto Melián (ante el que empató) y al invicto Ayrton Giménez (al que derribó), por lo que partirá como favorito ante un Botelli que ha perdido ampliamente la mayoría de sus combates más importantes.
En el choque estelar, el peso superwélter Guido Schramm 13(8KO)-1-1 será amplio favorito para regresar a la senda del triunfo ante José Alberto Vargas 8(2KO)-2(1).
El otro choque titular se producirá en el Club Estudiantes Concordia de Concordia, Argentina, y en él la campeona sudamericana Yanina del Carmen Lescano 10(2KO)-2 disputará su primer combate desde su buena actuación ante la oro olímpica Estelle Mossely, a la que llegó a sacudir. Lescano defenderá su título contra la colombiana Yenifer Rodríguez 12(7KO)-4(3)-2, quien tendrá muy difícil dar la sorpresa ante la fuerte y capaz campeona.
Por otro lado, en el Ubungo Plaza de Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, el peso supergallo local Tony Rashid 14(10KO)-2(1)-2, campeón de África, afrontará una peligrosa pugna ante el filipino Mark Anthony Geraldo 38(19KO)-10(2)-3. Aunque Rashid no tiene mal nivel y cuenta, entre otros triunfos, con una victoria por KOT ante el exretador mundial Siboniso Gonya, Geraldo es un boxeador muy exigente que ofreció una dura pelea en Japón a Takuma Inoue (hermano de Naoya Inoue) y que llega de una ajustada derrota ante un prospecto, por lo que el tanzano puede esperar una muy exigente batalla.
Por lo demás, se pueden destacar tres combates que tendrán lugar en México:
-En el Palenque de Zacatecas, emitido por ESPN Knockout, el contundente peso pluma Edwin “Pupo” Palomares 18(9KO)-4(1)-1 buscará su tercer triunfo consecutivo ante Edgar Alor 14(12KO)-2-1, que disputará su mayor combate hasta la fecha.
-En el Palenque de Ciudad Obregón, televisado por beIN Sports, el peso ligero José Roa 11(7KO)-2(1)-1 intentará lograr una de sus victorias más significativas ante un Isaí Hernández 11(7KO)-3(1)-1 que sólo ha sido batido antes del límite por el “Títere” Vázquez.
-En La Candelaria de Tijuana, dos boxeadores sin mucho encaje y con récords parciales negativos como Héctor Zepeda 20(6KO)-4(3) y Gabriel López 10(7KO)-6(4)-1 buscarán rebotar de sus derrotas en una pelea del peso medio.
Sábado 4 de junio
El australiano George Kambosos y el estadounidense Devin Haney pugnarán por el título indiscutido del peso ligero y por el puesto de número 1 en la división, siendo además un muy interesante combate entre hábiles y jóvenes invictos.

En principio, el combate Kambosos-Haney se iniciará una vez que haya terminado un evento de PBC en el que el campeón mundial WBC-WBO del peso supergallo Stephen Fulton expondrá su corona contra el exmonarca Daniel Román, siendo probable que esta sea una muy entretenida batalla. En el choque coestelar, el peso supermedio David Morrell afrontará un paso adelante ante Kalvin Henderson.

Varias horas antes, y sin ningún solapamiento posible con estas dos veladas, tendrá lugar la cartelera de Matchroom Boxing y DAZN encabezada por el mundial IBF del peso superpluma Kenichi Ogawa y Joe Cordina. En el respaldo tendrán lugar el campeonato de Europa Kourbanov-Barrett y los combates Nicolson-Bouvier y Smith-Perouene.

Por otro lado, en el Zenith Nantes Metropole de Saint-Herblain, Francia, se desarrollará un interesante choque del peso superwélter entre el invicto David Papot 25(4KO)-0-1, 15º WBO, y el fogueado Ahmed El Mousaoui 34(8KO)-3-1, en racha de diez victorias. Más allá del impulso que recibirá el ganador hacia mayores objetivos, esta será una gran oportunidad para que estos púgiles busquen una de las victorias más significativas de sus carreras ante un rival con aspiraciones y para que intenten mostrar que están preparados para ir más allá del ámbito nacional en estos momentos de sus carreras.
En el semifondo, el excampeón UE del peso gallo Elie Konki 12(1KO)-0 tratará de sumar su primera victoria del año en una revancha ante Loic Tajan 6(4KO)-1, ante el que tuvo un igualado choque en 2019.
En cuanto a enfrentamientos femeninos, en el Domo de la Feria de Fresnillo, México, televisado por Canal Space, se desarrollará un campeonato mundial WBC del peso supermosca en el que la titular Lourdes “La Pequeña Lulú” Juárez 33(4KO)-2(1) defenderá su cinturón ante la argentina Débora “Polvorita” Gómez 7(0KO)-7-2. La retadora tiene experiencia de calidad y varias actuaciones muy meritorias, pero a penas cuenta con triunfos de relieve y pelea como visitante ante una Juárez con un nivel teóricamente superior y que se ha visto favorecida en varios veredictos. Por ello, aunque quizás sea un choque disputado, el triunfo de Gómez parece improbable.
En la Explanada Municipal de Tlalnepantla, México, la 5ª WBC del peso mosca María Salinas 25(7KO)-7(1)-5 y la 13ª de esta misma lista Jacky Calvo 15(1KO)-7(1)-2 pelearán por un título menor del Consejo con el que intentarán aproximarse al máximo al top 3 y al mundial ante Marlen Esparza. Teniendo en cuenta que ambas son muy aguerridas, que han ofrecido grandes actuaciones ante varias púgiles de nivel alto (por ejemplo, ambas perdieron por la mínima ante Arely Muciño) y que se han visto en múltiples decisiones divididas, es muy probable que esta sea una pelea con mucha acción e igualdad y en la que se llegue a un veredicto muy ajustado.
El sábado también se producirán estos otros enfrentamientos:
-En el Argensporthalle de Wangen im Allgaeu, Alemania, el fogueado peso superligero Timo Schwarzkopf 20(12KO)-5 tratará de regresar a la senda del triunfo enfrentándose al invicto exaspirante al título de España del peso ligero Zeus de Armas 13(3KO)-0-1.
-En el GSH Event Center, Houston, Estados Unidos, emitido por un PPV de Fite, el invicto peso superpluma Jesse García 10(6KO)-0 afrontará una dura prueba ante el zurdo Elijah Pierce 12(11KO)-2, que dio la sorpresa truncando el récord invicto de Irvin González con un KOT.
-En Orlando, Estados Unidos, el excampeón mundial mínimo Byron Rojas 27(11KO)-4-3 pondrá fin a casi tres años de inactividad peleando en el peso minimosca contra el muy experimentado Armando Torres 26(19KO)-20(9).
-En el Salón Marbet de Nezahualcóyotl, México, emitido a través de YouTube, se producirá un bien emparejado enfrentamiento del peso mínimo entre dos jovencísimos boxeadores como Jesús Haro 8(0KO)-1 y Erick Nogueda 8(6KO)-0.
-En el Brentwood Centre de Brentwood, Reino Unido, el campeón de Inglaterra del peso superligero Billy Allington 10(0KO)-1-3 pondrá en juego su cinturón por primera vez ante Tom Ansell 10(2KO)-2.
-En el Club Unión y Progreso de Santa Fe, Argentina, retransmitido por TyC Sports, el joven peso supermedio, con 100% de knockouts, Pablo Corzo 10(10KO)-0 tratará de mantener su racha de triunfos ante el colombiano Alexi Rivera 9(5KO)-2(1).

The boxing activity began on Tuesday, it will continue this Thursday and, after a Friday without much to highlight, it will offer a Saturday with multiple interesting clashes and that will feature two great world championships. In addition, all this will precede an intense week with a significant number of exciting evenings.
Thursday, June 2
The Montreal Casino in Canada, will be the venue for a Probellum bill, broadcast from its website, in which one of the greatest super welterweight prospects, the American Charles Conwell 16(12KO)-0, will try to stay prepared for a crucial opportunity facing a tune-up bout against the Mexican Abraham Juárez 19(8KO)-9(5). If Juarez couldn’t reach the final bell against Carlos Ocampo or Abass Baraou, it seems very difficult for him to last long against the hard-hitting Conwell.
In this same event will participate the undefeated Canadian super lightweight Mazlum Akdeniz 16(8KO)-0. After a controversially win over Erick Encinia, Akdeniz will try to accumulate experience and obtain a more convincing triumph against the Mexican Juan Antonio Rodríguez 32(28KO)-8 (2), who achieved a victory by KO against Mercito Gesta. Also on Thursday, at the Palenque in Ciudad Obregón, Mexico, UFC Fight Pass will broadcast an event in which the lightweight prospect Luis “Koreano” Torres 15(10KO)-0 will have his biggest test to date against his tough compatriot Diego Andrade 14(1KO)-6(2)-2, a very hard fighter whose last three losses were by decision and against undefeated boxers, two of them being Archie Sharp (number 1 WBO super featherweight) and Bryan «Latino» Acosta.
In the co-main event, which will take place at lightweight, Bryan Zamarripa 10(3KO)-1 and Yair Marmolejo 7(5KO)-0-2 will have their first eight-round bout.
Friday, June 3
This day will only have a few mentionable fights. The only championships will take place in Argentina, one being for the vacant Argentine featherweight belt between Alan Luques 27(10KO)-11(2)-2 and Nicolás Botelli 11(6KO)-7(4), who will clash in the Polideportivo Municipal Eva Peron in General Madariaga, Argentina, broadcast by TyC Sports. Despite the fact that Luques has a partial record of 1-3-2, he is a very resistant and experienced boxer who has offered tough fights, among others, to the Olympian Alberto Melián (the bout ended in a draw) and the undefeated Ayrton Giménez (whom he knocked down), so he will be the favorite against Botelli, who has lost widely the majority of his most important fights.
In the main event, the super welterweight Guido Schramm 13(8KO)-1-1 will be the favorite to return to winning ways against José Alberto Vargas 8(2KO)-2(1).
The other championship will take place at the Club Estudiantes Concordia in Concordia, Argentina, and in it the South American titlist Yanina del Carmen Lescano 10(2KO)-2 will have her first fight since her good performance against the Olympic gold medalist Estelle Mosely, whom she shook. Lescano will defend her title against Colombian Yenifer Rodríguez 12 (7KO)-4 (3)-2, who will have very difficult to achieve an upset against the strong and capable champion.
On the other hand, at the Ubungo Plaza in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, the local super bantamweight Tony Rashid 14(10KO)-2(1)-2, African champion, will face a dangerous fight against the Filipino Mark Anthony Geraldo 38 (19KO)-10(2)-3. Although Rashid has a good level and, among other triumphs, a victory by TKO against former world challenger Siboniso Gonya, Geraldo is a very tough boxer who gave a lot of work in Japan to Takuma Inoue (brother of Naoya Inoue) and who comes from a close loss to a prospect, so the Tanzanian can expect a very demanding battle.
For the rest, three fights that will take place in Mexico can be highlighted:

Saturday, June 4
The Australian George Kambosos and the American Devin Haney will fight for the undisputed lightweight title, and for being considered the number 1 in the division, in a very interesting match between skilled and undefeated young boxers. Read more following the link.
In theory, the duel Kambosos-Haney will start after the finishing of a PBC event in which the WBC-WBO super bantamweight world champion Stephen Fulton will defend his crown against the former belt holder Daniel Román. This potentially very entertaining battle will be supported by the super middleweight David Morrell, who will face a step up against Kalvin Henderson. Read more following the link.
Several hours before, and with no possible overlap with the other two evenings, will take place the Matchroom Boxing and DAZN card, which will be headlined by an IBF world super featherweight championship between Kenichi Ogawa and Joe Cordina. The European championship Kourbanov-Barrett and the bouts Nicolson-Bouvier and Smith-Perouene will be part of the undercard. Read more following the link.
At the Zenith Nantes Metropole in Saint-Herblain, France, there will be an interesting super welterweight clash between the undefeated David Papot 25(4KO)-0-1, 15th WBO, and the seasoned Ahmed El Mousaoui 34(8KO)-3-1, on a ten-fight winning streak. Beyond the boost the winner will receive, this will be a great opportunity for these fighters to achieve one of their most significant victories against an opponent with aspirations and to try to show that they are prepared to go beyond the national scene at this point in their careers.
In the co-feature, former EU bantamweight champion Elie Konki 12 (1KO)-0 will try to obtain his first victory of the year in a rematch against Loic Tajan 6 (4KO)-1, against whom he had a contested match in 2019.
As for female matches, at the Domo de la Feria in Fresnillo, Mexico, televised by Canal Space, a WBC super flyweight world championship will be held between the titleholder Lourdes «La Pequeña Lulú» Juárez 33(4KO)-2(1) and the Argentinan Débora “Polvorita” Gómez 7(0KO)-7-2. The challenger has quality experience and very meritorious performances, but she hardly has significant wins and fights as a visitor against Juarez, who theoretically has a superior level and who has been favored in several verdicts. Therefore, although it may be a disputed clash, Gómez’s triumph seems unlikely.

-At the GSH Event Center, Houston, United States, broadcast by a Fite PPV, the undefeated super featherweight Jesse García 10(6KO)-0 will face a tough test against the southpaw Elijah Pierce 12(11KO)-2, who defeated by upset the unbeaten Irvin González.
-In Orlando, United States, former world minimumweight champion Byron Rojas 27(11KO)-4-3 will put an end to almost three years of inactivity fighting at light flyweight against the veteran Armando Torres 26(19KO)-20(9).
-At the Salón Marbet in Nezahualcóyotl, Mexico, broadcasted through YouTube, there will be a well-matched minimumweight battle between two very young boxers like Jesús Haro 8(0KO)-1 and Erick Nogueda 8(6KO)-0.
