El WBC da por cancelada la eliminatoria del peso ligero Ryan García vs. Isaac Cruz

Hace poco más de una semana que el WBC ordenó una eliminatoria del peso ligero entre Ryan García e Isaac Cruz, tiempo que ha dado margen para algunos cruces de tweets y bastantes especulaciones antes de que todo ello terminase en decepción para los aficionados. Y es que el Consejo Mundial de Boxeo ha confirmado oficialmente que ha cancelado la eliminatoria.
El propio Mauricio Sulaimán, presidente WBC, firmó el siguiente comunicado:
Después de consultar con los campamentos de Ryan “King” García e Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, se confirmó que ambos peleadores tenían peleas programadas anteriormente, por lo que el proceso ordenado por el WBC se canceló. La puerta sigue abierta para un posible combate en el futuro entre estos dos sensacionales peleadores.
Esta noticia ha provocado ya opiniones de todo tipo, afirmando algunos que Golden Boy Promotions quiere proteger a Ryan García al igual que a Jaime Munguía, otros que de nuevo Premier Boxing Champions sigue aislándose a sí mismo buscando emparejamientos exclusivos dentro de su escuadra y muchos otros que ni a uno ni a otro equipo les interesaba realmente este combate en estos momentos.
Sea como sea, diversas fuentes apuntan a que el dominicano Javier Fortuna es el máximo candidato a pugnar contra García a continuación, mientras que respecto a Cruz existen rumores variados que sugieren que podría medirse a Jezreel Corrales, Denys Berinchyk o incluso a Michel Rivera, si bien todo esto de momento no son más que suposiciones.

It was just over a week ago that the WBC ordered a lightweight eliminator between Ryan Garcia and Isaac Cruz, time frame in which have been some exchanges of tweets and plenty of speculation before it all ended in disappointment for the fans. That is because the World Boxing Council has officially confirmed that it has canceled the eliminator.
Mauricio Sulaimán, WBC president, signed the following statement:
After consultation with camps of Ryan “King” Garcia and Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, it has been confirmed that both fighters had prior scheduled fights, consequently the process ordered by The WBC has been now cancelled. The door remains open for a possible match in the future between these two sensational fighters.
This news has already created opinions of all kinds, some affirming that Golden Boy Promotions wants to protect Ryan García in the same way they are doing with Jaime Munguía, others that once again Premier Boxing Champions continues isolating itself looking for exclusive matches within their stable and many others stating that the teams of both boxers were not really interested in this fight right now.
Be that as it may, various sources point out that the Dominican Javier Fortuna is the main candidate to fight García next, while regarding Cruz there are various rumors that suggest that he could face Jezreel Corrales, Denys Berinchyk or even Michel Rivera, although all of this is just guesswork for the moment.
