“Jazza” Dickens derrotó a Andoni Gago por knockout, Fielding obtuvo rápido KOT contra el resistente Timo Laine

Después de perder ante Kid Galahad en su segundo intento de convertirse campeón mundial, el británico James “Jazza” Dickens 31(12KO)-4(3) ha vuelto a la senda del triunfo este viernes ante el excampeón de Europa español Andoni “Machito” Gago 25(7KO)-5(2)-1, a quien ha derrotado por knockout en el quinto asalto.
Dado que Gago no tomó la iniciativa, el hábil y astuto Dickens pudo ir escogiendo sus precisos directos arriba y abajo y sacar algunos buenos curvos a la contra mientras eludía con pasos atrás las puntuales entradas de su contrincante. Pronto quedó claro que con este planteamiento Gago iba a tener muchas dificultades, pero éste siguió cediendo la iniciativa mientras Dickens evitaba sus jabs y de vez en cuando impactaba afilados rectos.
Después de propinar un claro golpe en la nuca, en el tercer round Dickens asestó un duro cabezazo que dañó a Gago, quien cayó en un ataque inmediatamente posterior. Pese a ello, el árbitro realizó cuenta, de modo que la situación para el visitante se volvió todavía más crítica. En adelante Dickens continuó imponiendo su control táctico desde la distancia larga y media-larga, acompañado de algunas plásticas esquivas, hasta que en el quinto episodio derribó a Gago con un duro uppercut zurdo a la contra, llegándose entonces a la conclusión por knockout.
Fielding venció por KOT
Antes de este combate el peso semipesado Rocky Fielding 30(18KO)-0 se anotó un triunfo con un KOT en el tercer episodio sobre el encajador finlandés Timo Laine 30(12KO)-18(5).
Fielding tomó la iniciativa y presionó contra las cuerdas a Laine, que pronto quedó fijado en esa situación pese a sus eventuales intentonas ofensivas. El británico descargó hooks y uppercuts que en el segundo asalto se volvieron realmente secos y contundentes, dañando a su cerrado oponente. El castigo continuó llegando en el tercer asalto, dando Laine muestras de estar dañado, así que, no teniendo suficiente respuesta, el árbitro detuvo el combate.

After losing to Kid Galahad in his second attempt to become world champion, British James «Jazza» Dickens 31(12KO)-4(3) returned to winning ways this Friday against the Spaniard, former European champion, Andoni “Machito” Gago 25(7KO)-5(2)-1.
Since Gago did not take the initiative, the skillful and astute Dickens was able to choose precise straight punches up and down and connect some good counter hooks while avoiding with a step backwards the sporadic attacks of his opponent. It soon became clear that Gago was going to have a lot of trouble with this tactical approach, but he continued to renounce to the initiative while Dickens avoided his jabs and occasionally landed sharp straights.
After hitting his rival clearly in the back of the head, in the third round Dickens headbutted Gago, who was hurt and went down in an attack immediately afterwards. Despite this, the referee made count, so the situation for the visitor became even more critical. From then on Dickens continued to impose his tactical control from long and medium-long distance, accompanied by some great defensive actions, until in the fifth episode he dropped Gago with a hard counter left uppercut, then coming the conclusion by knockout.
Fielding won by TKO
Before this bout, British light heavyweight Rocky Fielding 30(18KO)-0 scored a third round TKO win over resistant Finnish Timo Laine 30(12KO)-18(5).
Fielding took the initiative and pressed Laine against the ropes. Despite his eventual offensive attempts, the visitor remained cornered most of the time and the British threw hooks and uppercuts that in the second round became really hard and forceful, hurting his opponent. The punishment continued in the third round, when Laine gave signs of being damaged so, not having enough answer, the referee stopped the fight.
